[ sometimes it takes a month and then some to follow up on offers made for conversation; prompted still even then at disappearances of people who were steadying forces for one of the only people sort of on her side in this world, or she on his. what it means in the short term is a hesitant moment before Annie types out a text, sending it out and tucking her communicator away to not be thinking about it in the aftermath. She has to pick up the puppy from Will's, make sure he gets walk time and play time, keep up with her obligations, not wonder where Reiner will be. She supposes that's all very normal, and that might be the most unsettling part. Normal hasn't been part of any concept of her life without hidden expectations... ever. ]

[ Part of her wishes it'd been Reiner. Bertholdt has a better centering. He'd be able to handle it better in the long run, not leaving Annie to wonder how much she needs to worry about his mental state. Bertholdt was... frightening, in a way, but he was steady. Too steady. Nervous. Cautious. More cautious than she or Reiner have been.

She hesitates, then hits send, calling out to Rex when she looks up and feels him tug on the leash. He turns his head, ball still in mouth, tail wagging. He cants his head to one side, giving her a look of confusion. What? ]

A friend of mine was ported out as well recently.
It really throws things off, doesn't it? You get comfortable with the way things are, relatively speaking, and then something as simple as someone leaving disrupts everything.

[Senketsu's far from being the one to take it the worst, but that doesn't mean he hasn't had to console those that did.]

Though I remember my own birth vividly, I don't recall which day it happened on.

I don't know Ryuuko's, either. I imagine she's not the type to celebrate birthdays.

I'm starting to wonder what celebrate really means. Is saying happy birthday much of a celebration? It feels more like an acknowledgement of someone else.

I'll ask her directly. She can't do worse than say "I'm not saying." Literally. I have one person telling me "yearly" and then Cybertronians don't really have birthdays... if you decide on one for yourself, will you let me know?
